The transfer of certification is the recognition of an existing and valid management system certification provided by an accredited certification body by another accredited certification body in order to issue their own certification (transfer). On the basis of this recognition the new certification body shall issue a certificate on its behalf.
Regardless of the reasons to make the transfer of certification the organization whose certificate will be transferred completes a request for transfer of certification.
